Drive Detail "Other"
Drive Detail "Other"
I was looking at my Tnas and I noticed my drive was filling up. I looked at the device detail and saw that "other" is almost 11 gigs. I looked on the forum and tried a few things such as reenabling snapshots and removing them. I even SSH'd into the system and found some old snapshots. I tried reenabling snapshots but they don't show up. I can't delete them from the terminal either as they are read-only. any help or suggestions to figure out what that "Other is and deleting
it to recover space.Re: Drive Detail "Other"
If you can find the names of the snapshot plan in ssh, recreate those snapshots EXACTLY (spelling, upper, lower case) and they should show up.

Re: Drive Detail "Other"
Have you ever enabled the file system snapshot? You can re-enable it and delete the snapshots.

Re: Drive Detail "Other"
I did try the snapshot recreate, but no I can't seem to get a list of them to show up. I was able to get some and delete them a few days ago. but I am unable to get the rest to reappear.
@troy, I already did that step. There were a few and they deleted just fine. The "other" is what is left after deleting everything I could.

Have you looked at both 'file system' and 'volume' snapshots? Get a list of remaining snapshots by listing the folder(s) from cli.

Re: Drive Detail "Other"
Has the deletion been successful now? Does "other" still occupy a lot of capacity?dj13990 wrote: ↑14 Oct 2023, 22:47 I was looking at my Tnas and I noticed my drive was filling up. Re: Drive Detail "Other"
Yes, I think I finally got all of them deleted. I had to try about 10 times and it finally found some of the system snapshots. I was able to delete them and that cleared up all the extra space.
