Hello,
i need to understand if there is a solution to my problem. I need to install this app:
https://tmnascommunity.eu/download/homeassistant/
(HomeAssistant TOS4 2022.11.1.0 x86_64.tpk)
And Python 3.10.5 is required, but I cannot install it.
The store allows to install Python 3.8 only.
I tried to install Python 3.10.5 from this link:
https://tmnascommunity.eu/download/python310/
(Python310 TOS4 3.10.5.0 x86_64.tpk)
It reaches 50% and the message is this:
("Error! The file is incorrect and it can not be installed.")
I tried with TOS 4.2.40. No way.
Last week: updated to TOS 4.2.41 Nothing changed.
Last week: Restore to factory - Now TOS 4.2.43 Nothing changed.
I also tried to install Python 3.8.12 (in every OS version).
https://tmnascommunity.eu/download/python38/
(Python38_TOS4_3.8.12.1_x86_64.tpk)
Nothing changed.
Every time i set up the language to EN to avoid any app language incompatibility.
What i am doing wrong? Thanks.

Sorry. I forgot my hardware. F2-210.
Thanks.
Thanks.

Hi,
The model you are using is an arm architecture device, and the application you are installing is developed for x86 architecture devices (as can be seen from the name of the installation package). Perhaps you can find a version of the arm architecture.

The package is clearly for both x86 and x64.
My ARM uses x64 instructions (ARM V8 64-bit).
If you read in my link:

Am i wrong?

I have an ARMV8 architecture, that is 64 bit instruction but is not compatible with other product.
Terramaster has produced a completely useless hardware. Old, not compatible with any app and with an ancient and shameful hardware.
I wish Terramaster's engineers the worst.

As posted on the community page you referenced: (and every other app download page, I guess)
[*** is the app provider, to avoid any confusion. Nothing to do with me.] So, you are complaining to TM about something provided by a community member for free. You need to sort out your priorities. Maybe send the communiy member a donation! All apps here are not officially provided by TerraMaster, but developed by *** in spare time. All the apps you can download here are free. If you encounter problems while using the app, *** can provide you with advice and help as much as *** can. Since it takes *** a lot of time to maintain these apps and provide technical support, *** would appreciate if you make a donation to support *** work and continue to provide up to date versions.

I think it will be useful for you to read about CPU architecture on the link belowfrancescof wrote: ↑02 Jul 2023, 22:33How many bad information on the net... Anyway you have right.francescof wrote: ↑02 Jul 2023, 22:20 The package is clearly for both x86 and x64.

The fact that your NAS can run 64bit applications, doesn't mean it is called x64 but ARM64.
In short
Code: Select all
X64, also called x86-64, refers to the 64-bit extended CPU ISA (Instruction Set Architecture) based on x86, which is backward compatible with 32-bit x86 architecture and older 16-bit x86 architecture. In addition to the above names, x64 also has other names like x86_64, AMD64, and Intel64.
