Root file system

Post by dhfh522 »

Is there a way to extend the root file system? It looks like I'm almost out of space:

Filesystem Size Used Avail Use% Mounted on
/dev/md9 1.9G 1.8G 29M 99% /
devtmpfs 7.8G 0 7.8G 0% /dev
tmpfs 7.8G 36K 7.8G 1% /dev/shm
tmpfs 7.8G 19M 7.8G 1% /tmp
tmpfs 7.8G 600K 7.8G 1% /run
tmpfs 7.8G 155M 7.6G 2% /opt/var
/dev/mapper/fc1 18T 11T 7.0T 59% /Volume1
/dev/mapper/fc1 18T 11T 7.0T 59% /home
/dev/mapper/vg0-lv1 2.0T 575M 2.0T 1% /Volume2
/dev/mapper/vg1-lv2 39T 9.9T 29T 26% /Volume3
Setup:
TOS 6.0.650
T9-423(16GB)
1 x Intel 1Tb 670P Hyper-Cache
9 x 3TB HGST Ultrastar 7K4000
8 - members in TRaid array, 1 - Hot Spare
1 Storage pool with 2 Volumes
Backup
D5-300C
4x14TB ST14000NM0018 in TRaid array
1 Storage pool with 1 volume

1. md9 is only for root file system, you need to check what is taking your space there. normally the original root file system will be not bigger than 1.5GB;
2. Did you put in some drives which have been used in TOS 4.2 system? md9 created in TOS 4.x is 2GB, but in TOS 5.x is 8GB;
3. you are not able to extend md9 capacity until you wipe all your drives and reinstall a fresh new TOS 5.
