Time Machine Error BACKUP DISK DOES NOT SUPPORT THE REQUIRED CAPABILITIES
Re: Time Machine Error BACKUP DISK DOES NOT SUPPORT THE REQUIRED CAPABILITIES
Hi, could you try to remove the current folder "time_machine" from the list, and add a different folder and try again?

Re: Time Machine Error BACKUP DISK DOES NOT SUPPORT THE REQUIRED CAPABILITIES
Hi, I tried that but the error stays the same (screenshots attached). Is there somebody in your support team with more knowledge about SMB or AFP time machine shares in Linux? This thread seems to be leading to nothing.

Hello, I'm having the same issue and tried all the steps you suggested. Is there anything else you can suggest?
Re: Time Machine Error BACKUP DISK DOES NOT SUPPORT THE REQUIRED CAPABILITIES
We are testing the new mac os 10.15.5, we are not sure if the mac os update made some changes which lead to Time machine backup problem. We noticed a similar issued has been reported on some websites https://www.macrumors.com/2020/05/28/ap ... e-backups/
Will keep you updated. Did you successfully backup in previous MAC OS version? Or you can write an email to support(a)terra-master.com and ask for a remote session.

Re: Time Machine Error BACKUP DISK DOES NOT SUPPORT THE REQUIRED CAPABILITIES
Thanks for the reply. This is definitely not a 10.15.5. problem. I also tried with a Macbook running 10.13.6, to the same effect. The Macrumours link you mentioned has nothing to do with this problem, it only relates to creating bootable backups.

Re: Time Machine Error BACKUP DISK DOES NOT SUPPORT THE REQUIRED CAPABILITIES
OK, so the solution was actually pretty simple: uncheck "Enable Bonjour Time Machine Broadcast via SMB" in Control Panel -> Discovery Service. Thats it. I'm curious from you others if this also works for you,

This fixed it for me! Thank you for the easy solution.
Re: Time Machine Error BACKUP DISK DOES NOT SUPPORT THE REQUIRED CAPABILITIES
I've got exactly the same problem but after following all the other advice unchecking the Bonjour over SMB didn't work for me.
What to do now?

I have the same issue. I am running the latest version of Catalina (10.5.7). I tried disabling the Time Machine via SMB option but that did not solve the issue.
