Post by Haunted »

Hello,

I have F2-210 nas running TOS 4.1.18-2001031356. I have obe HDD Seagate Enterprise 6TB and one SSD 240GB. When I tried to create SSD cache I don't see the SSD in the list. But I see it on HDD page and I can create volume and storige pool with the SSD. I just can't create SSD cache. Please help me.

That's SSD cache as your second picture shows.

Yes, but it takes GBs from seagate HDD. It doesn't show SSD there and I can't modify the size it the cache. When I click confirm the nas restart but after that the cache is again disabled

My HDD now is setting as single disk. Should I combine HDD and SSD to JBOD in order to create SSD cache.

Do you still have a storage pool and/or volume on your SSD? When I created an SSD cache for my RAID 5 array I pre-initialised the SSD in Windows.

If I create storage pool and volume on the SSD the option for SSD cache disappear

I think there is a bug in the TOS software. I followed the instruction select SSD Cache /dev/sdd from first picture. The select number of partitions ( I tried 1,2,3). THe NAS automatikly restarts but after that SSD Cache is disabled again.

Have you tried enabling it after it restarts? I.e. configure the SSD cache as in your first picture. Then,, after reboot, go back in to edit the volume and tick enable SSD cache. Can't remember if I had to do this when I set up mine, sorry :-)

Well after restart it's the same picture. I select it again , restart automatically and again it shows the same picture and cache is disabled.

With the new update 4.1.21 it worked. At least it showed SSD cache enable. I can't tell if it's really working. Is there a way yo check
