Toshiba MG Series Enterprise Drive in F2-421?

Post by RSB123 »

Hi there -

Why are Toshiba MG Enterprise drives not listed as supported in the F2-421? Would it break?

I'm looking at buying an F2-421, but I'd like to put Toshiba MG Enterprise drives in there not NAS drives, because the MG series Enterprise drives are more robust and faster. The MG have a 550tb per year usage rating rather than the NAS drives 180tb max, and are 7200.

Its a bit of a lottery choosing drives for the TNAS as some unlisted drives work OK and some recommended drives give trouble i run Seagate Barracuda and WD in mine without problems although i have had problems in the past using the same drives...so my advice would be to not load any sensitive data until you have had the TNAS working stably for about two weeks.
