Automatic wake up F5-221

Post by MisterXY »

Hello, I bought a terramaster F5-221 a while ago. Back then, I noticed that my NAS with a different OS keeps waking up at midnight. Unfortunately, even modifying the BIOS and deactivating the option does not help and my NAS is sometimes woken up at midnight, but sometimes at a different time. Sometimes it doesn't shut down either, but restarts. Unfortunately, I read that often here in the forum. A BIOS update should help, sometimes make things worse, etc. Basically, the TOS 5. is not a bad system if it weren't for the USBshare error and that each HDD contains 4 partitions, which also have a bootloader on them. I then delete partition 1-3. Also find it modest that I can't mount VIDEO isos because the option has been disabled in the kernel.
Therefore, I find Terramaster's policy rather suboptimal.
As an end, I probably need a working BIOS for my project, which deactivates the wake up timer in the BIOS.
Unfortunately, a letter from support 3 months ago did not bring me an answer. The e-mail disappeared into nothing.

The sticker says the following:
TM-J3355-2G2L V2.1
GMA7821225685

on the other this:
000-F5221-FBA002-2000

BIOS Version: MAPL0304V17

It looks like the same error as here

I get a new Bios with manual. I have updated from MAPL0304V17 to MAPL0304V22.
But the strange is, that i also update name from 000-F5221-FBA002-2000 to 000-F5221-NT140-0001.
Is that a error in manual?

"000-F5221-FBA002-2000" is a mark of the device model and does not affect use.

It almost looks like the wakeup error is fixed and so is the auto restart error that occurs when the NAS has been on for a while.
The NAS automatically restarted instead of shutting down.
The command "dmesg | grep -i 'acpi'" also showed that the device was switched on via the power button.
Furthermore, the bug seems to have been fixed that the NAS started up automatically as soon as you plugged it into the socket, even though it was deactivated in the BIOS.

But what I also have to say about the BIOS is that many functions have been removed. While I still had csm in version MAPL0304V17, it is officially "not available" in MAPL0304V22. This means that many options have been hidden. So you can officially "not change" the boot order.
But where there's a will, there's a way.
