F5-422 BIOS Issues
F5-422 BIOS Issues
Is anyone else that has a F5-422 model having problems getting into the BIOS? I hooked up my NAS to a monitor with an HDMI cable and a wired keyboard, but I noticed that it will only actually show output on the screen if I plug the usb keyboard in after TOS begins to load up, making it impossible to get into/even see the BIOS screen so I can start button smashing the del key. Just wondering if I have an issue with my BIOS and if others are experiencing this as well.

If you want to enter the BIOS interface, you need to turn on the TNAS when the hard disk is not plugged in. If it still does not work, you need to unplug the small U disk on the motherboard of the machine.

I’ve done both of that and have tried booting it with the hard disk out and the USB drive on the Motherboard out and it just shows a black screen.
Re: F5-422 BIOS Issues
Do you start pressing ESC when you press the TNAS power button? Is the display normally powered on?
1.Connect a monitor using HDMI cable and an USB keyboard to your TNAS.
2.Turn on your TNAS and keep hitting the ESC or DEL button on the keyboard to enter Bios;

Yes I’ve tried hitting ESC and del as soon as I powered on the TNAS. Could there be something corrupt in my BIOS? Is there an update for it that I may need to apply?

Hi,
You can try to remove the battery on the motherboard, then short-circuit the battery holder to clear the CMOS, and try again after replacing the battery.
