Re: [F5-221] Automatic wake up

Post by eloo »

Hello,
i have some news about the wake up problem.

I was able to change the time when the system wakes up.
When i set an automatic wakeup in TOS it seems to be respected as expected. Also the wakeup at midnight seems to be fixed with that. (Automatic wakeup enabled)

Then i have tried to delete this wakeup and disable the automatic wakeup at all in TOS. But it seems that this is NOT working as expected.
The alarm itself was deleted and automatic wakeup disabled in UI but the system wakes up at the configured time of the deleted wakeup. So it looks like there is a bug your implementation for the automatic wakeup.

I've also checked the following files for wakeups
* /sys/class/rtc/rtc0/wakealarm -> has value when wakeup is set and none when wakeup is disabled
* /proc/driver/rtc -> has IRQ alarm and time when wakeup is set and none when wakeup is disabled

So maybe you are writing the alarm also to another location which is not cleaned up correctly?

Best regards

The bug ist still not fixed and it seems that terramaster has given up on fixing this.

Very disappointing.

Have you ever sent an email directly to Terra-Master support? This forum is not the official conduit for support even when Terra-Master people respond to the threads. They'll probably ask to remote into your system for a look. Support has resolved issues for me when I reached a dead-end on this forum.

i've send around 30 mails with your "support" already..
but since weeks they are just not responding anymore.

we had already the discussion with the remote access.. and since you not really offering "24h support" as you suppose this is not a solution.

i'm really tired of repeating myself over and over again

this is one of the worst "support" experiences i had since a couple of years.

Any update on this?
Got the same problem with a recently bought F2-221.
With nothing but the power cable connected the device boots up at 0:00 system clock time.
It's definitely something in the BIOS but I can't find any switch there to disable that.
Have loaded defaults and even performed a CMOS reset.

I did. The machine just booted up on the next day. Apparently it remembers the setting only for 24h. I still don't understand if this behavior is how it's supposed to be or people see it as a "feature" because they keep their machines on 24/7 and/or don't realize it.
Is there really no BIOS fix for this issue?
