Notes on using Thunderbolt 3 devices with a Mac Studio computer

Post by TMzethar »

Applicable model:D4 Thunderbolt3, D5 Thunderbolt3, D8 Thunderbolt3, D16 Thunderbolt3

Fault phenomena and solutions
If you encounter an issue with your Thunderbolt 3 device not being recognized by your Mac Studio (MAX) computer, please take note of the following.

1.Because there are some users who may not be aware that the two ports on the front of the Mac Studio (MAX) are USB-C ports and not Thunderbolt 4 ports, connecting your Thunderbolt 3 device to the USB-C port will not allow the hard drive to be recognized properly.

2.There are two versions of the Mac Studio: MAX and ULTRA. Only the ULTRA version has Thunderbolt 4 ports on the front.

3.If you are a Mac Studio (MAX) user, please connect your Thunderbolt 3 device to the Thunderbolt 4 port on the back.
