Please Help, Random deaths..

Have a few questions.

NAS is a TerraMaster F2-221. Have 2 devices attached. D5-300C and a D2-310. This ok?

Some stuff I don't like. Fan random, normally does nothing, sometimes works, system complains about heat (set to max or auto, random results). Documentation needs improving. Not good for new people. Applications change their settings on every start.

Spend days copying files to the NAS drives. full of data just connected them. All looked ok till.... Set a schedule to turn off at midnight. Was awake so hit power to turn back on.

Out of 4 USB drives only 3 now seen. Bittorrents data got halved but only 3 out of 50 didn't say missing files (with nothing I could do).

Wanted this to work but WTF...

Seriously, I just randomly lost most of my data. I'm not thanking TerraMaster for nothing ATM and seriously wish I'd looked elsewhere.

Removing the other 2 USB devices before I lose everything, so pissed off.

Hi, first of all, thank you for your reporting issues here.
But we need some more detail about two issues:
1. what did you mean "Bittorrents data got halved but only 3 out of 50 didn't say missing files" ? would you provide more details? The Bittorrent app was officially from the developer, if there is issue, we need to report to them too.
2. what did you mean "I just randomly lost most of my data. " ? how you lost your data?
3. what did you mean "random deaths"?
4. what kind of hard drive you installed in your tnas? may I have the model number?

thank you

Hope that image works. After a midnight power down when it came back had to reset it a few times to see all the USB drives. The BT drive (now moved to my PC) seems to indicate a bunch of my torrents not there now.

2. All going fine till reset, then suddenly drives not mounting and qbittorent needs rebuidling.

3. This is the second time this has happened to this device, both times connected with a USB connected device, Is is suitable for handling a D5-300C and a D2-310 connected to it?

4. At first had WD Reds, 6TB. They are that model that's been called out for being SMR. ATM have 2 x Crucial MX500. The 1TB model so 2TB as using RAID 0.

With the D5-300C ATM I have 3 single drives in it. 2 RAID ports are not being used. On my computer I see the RAID USB but nothing there. Could this be causing issues to the NAS?

The image can't be loaded correctly on my computer.
TNAS device is not able to handle a USB device connected through a docking or hub. Unfortunately, both D5-300C and D2-310 are built in a USB hub inside their mother boards. So attaching your D5-300C or D2-310 to your TNAS USB host is not recommended.

I have 2 10T drives coming soon via WD 10TB Elements Desktop Hard Drive which I'll strip.

Pair of Crucial MX500 1TB SSD's pass (SMART) when not in enclosure, fail in it (SMART and disk info) although seemed fine (but could have caused me issues).

Is your new drive arrived? How you going to do with your crucial SSD?
