Add another disk to JBOD array?

Hi all,
Before I start I'd just like to say I'm not the most experienced here so please forgive my lack of knowledge that likely seems obvious to you.
I already have a couple 8TB drives for my F4-421. I plan on using these in JBOD as the data stored on them can be redownloaded at any time should a drive fail. Of course this is a 4-bay NAS and within the next few days I'd like to buy some drives for the two remaining bays. I already found out the hard way that you can't convert from a single disk to JBOD for some reason... Before I go out and purchase those extra drives I'd like to make sure I can just place them in the NAS and expand the JBOD array to use the new drives that I'm yet to purchase?
Cheers in advance
