My NAS was hit with the ransomeware. I am following the instructions on how to reinstall the OS.
1) Powered off the unit.
2) Removed hard drives
3) Powered on, waiting two minutes
4) Put drives back in.
5) Used TNASPC to find my drive.
6) Clicked Start when the webpage came up.
All I am getting is the text TIP.
How do I resolve this so I can update the TOS?
Best Regards,
Keith
How to reinstall TOS for your TNAS?
Re: How to reinstall TOS for your TNAS?
Please refer to the method 2 of the article to reinstall the TOS.
Note: Reinstalling TOS can remove viruses and strengthen defenses, allowing you to continue to use the device, but it can not help you deal with the encrypted files, and it will also make it impossible to decrypt using the Deadbolt key. Please operate with needed.

Re: How to reinstall TOS for your TNAS?
Thank you for the reply. However I did follow the instructions for method 2 in article. When I get to step 6, I login and on the next screen all I get on the webpage is the word "TIP". Thus I am not able to reinstall the TOS. Please advise on how to proceed from here.
These are the steps I posted in my original comments.

Re: How to reinstall TOS for your TNAS?
Hi TMRoy,
That was one of the first things I tried, I used Edge then Google Chrome.
The results is the same. I am using a Windows 10 Pro workstation.
Any other suggestions?

Re: How to reinstall TOS for your TNAS?
I have followed method 2 after deadbolt attack.
The update has worked but I cannot see my hard drives although they show as connected. How do I view my files in the file manager again?

Re: How to reinstall TOS for your TNAS?
Hello TMRoy,
I have resolved my issue.
However, I have had my NAS for 2 years now. The version installed was the previous version as I did an upgrade about 2 months ago.
Here was the issue in case anyone else runs in to the same thing.
After using method 2, using TNAS-PC to connect and clicking login the next page only shows the word "TIPS"
I was moving the mouse around in that area when it turned in a finger meaning there is a link there.
Right under it was another link of course there was no text. So I just click on the first link (no big deal since all my files were encrypted already) and it went to checking disk. From there everything else fell in to place and I was able to reload TOS and upgrade it to the latest fix.
Best Regards,
Keith
