Hi
I tried method 2, but every time I run './make_install bzImage' i get an error message about /media/ not being an efi partition, and the resulting usb drive doesnt work.

Please check if the USB drive is healthy and try to clean the partition with your computer and try again. If the problem persists, you should be able to install TOS with it as well. If necessary, please contact the technical support mailbox.

Hey Guys,
Been playing around making an usb stick for a F5 221.Tryed it on different hardware and it works. Openeing the GUI i get the message "piracy is illegal".
I can get in the Linux terminal and see all files etc etc. Any ideas what is causing this? Is this some hardware or something in the software.

Hello. I have F4-423. Used instructions from file to fix my USB initBoot, but it didn't work. The problem is - UEFI boot in this device. I've managed to boot bzImage with EFI grub bootloader, but it doesn't work properly. Then I tried to make usb boot from TerraMaster Bootloader V5.1.96 but Ubuntu can't read this img. Are there instructions to burn USB for EFI devices? Or maybe proper USB image? Thank you.

And I've managed to make it eventually. Used installation package and bootloader v5.1.96. It's packed with 7z btw. =) But problem was not in USB. Problem was with nvme disks, where TOS was installed. I used ubuntu live CD to destroy partitions on NVME and only after this NAS loaded.

This method is suitable for F4-423, but the online installation of this boot system will install TOS 4.2. When installing the system for the first time, you need to choose to manually install TOS 5.
