Which drives are you running? I stopped using Seagate drives in my servers years ago because they ran hot. Servers with mixed Seagate and WD drives showed the WDs always ran cooler regardless of positioning in the bays. Been running WD Reds ever since.

What version of TOS were you using? There was an issue with Auto fan not working properly, where some people had issues. viewtopic.php?f=28&t=2527&p=15435&hilit=fan#p15435

I recently updated to to the latest, prior to that I was running the previous version. I now have fan set to full rather than auto.
