Boost your TNAS network bandwidth to 2.5G

Post by TMroy »

TerraMaster has recently launched a USB 2.5G network adapter, which is connected to the USB 3.0 host interface of your TNAS to increase the bandwidth to 2.5Gbps. It is available for sale now.

Applicable models
x.86 series models: F2-220/F2-221/F4-220/F4-221/F4-420/F5-221/F5-421
ARM series models: F2-211/F4-211/U4-211

TOS requrement: 4.2.18 or later versions

Note: Because 220 series and 420 series TNAS have both USB 2.0 host and USB 3.0 host, if you are using 220 series and 420 series TNAS, please be sure to connect the network adapter to the USB 3.0 host port, otherwise, the network bandwidth will be limited.

Shipping costs to the UK exceed the price of the item making this adaptor way too expensive (£70). I don't think that someone would be interested in buying it.

This person mentioned their CLUB3D adapter worked previously, which is RealTek based: viewtopic.php?f=12&t=1977

The Terra-Master branded one is most likely RTL8156B based.

cheers, may be worth thinking about at some point, certainly if I change the computer to a Mac, I have just realised that I will need two 2.5Gb/s switches unless i can change the network around, we will see.

I have 3 Fx-210's that says that statement is incorrect.
It has the Realtek chip.
