D2-310 Dropped Offline

Post by spanke78 »

I now have 2 D2-310s. Older one is working fine. Set up new D2 with same configuration as old D2 but with 6TB instead of 3TB, both D2's are RAID-1. The new D2 came on line OK after setup. While copying data from old D2 to new D2, the new D2 dropped offline with no obvious interruption from the system. It had copied appx 1TB of data successfully with 600GB left. The new D2 will NOT come back on line.
1. Switched USB 3.0 ports using a different slot
2. Swapped out USB 3.0 cable
3. Switched old D2 to USB port the new D2 WAS using and it's working there normally (i.e. port is working OK).
4. Removed HDD's from D2 and re formatted them in an external HDD drive bay, re setup RAID-1 per manual. The Windows 7 still doesn't see the new D2 in Disk Management.
5. All leds are green

Please try following troubleshooting:

1. do not connect your device through a Docking or USB hub, just connect them directly to your computer;
2. remove your old D2-310, try only your new D2-310;
3. try reset your RAID refer to viewtopic.php?f=67&t=450
4. try only one drive with Single mode.

1. New D2 is connected directly to PC, NO hubs or docking.
2. Disconnected old D2
3. Removed drive 2 in new D2 (drive 1 is now by itself)
4. Reset to single mode and pressed reset for 6 sec with power on.

Disk Management still does not "see" the new D2
Drive 1 and power leds are green.

OK. I guess I box it up and return it as defective.
