Hi there,
I'm looking to switch from a couple of 6TB HDDs in raid 1 on my D5-300C over to some SSDs. The data I currently have on the drives is only about 70GBs, and shouldn't exceed a couple of hundred GBs. I was going to replace them with some 500GBs, but I don't know if that will work. If I take out one of the HDD's and put in a 500GB ssd, all of the data will fit, but will it actually rebuild automatically? Or will it just not work?
Thank you in advance!
D5-300C Switch to SSD
Re: D5-300C Switch to SSD
Hi! This will not work. It is recommended to use the same model of HDD for replacement, and the capacity should be equal to or greater than the original one.
You can back up the data first, and then use SSDs to build RAID1.
