Can D2-310 be used as a Raid Array for Raspberry Pi 4 NAS

Post by jvenables »

Hi All,

Been looking at setting up a NAS using a Raspberry Pi4 with the D2-310 connected via USB 3.0.

Will this enclosure work if connected to the USB3.0 port on the Pi 4?

Does the DS-310 when set to Raid1 count as hardware RAID? Been reading up on some other enclosures and supposedly the transfer speeds were terrible as the enclosure was being used as software raid, so a lot of CPU..etc was being used just to keep the RAID1 setup running.

Regards

Hi,
The D2-310 device is a hardware RAID, which does not take up CPU efficiency.
It is recommended that you create it through native hardware RAID.
