Reading the in manual provided here:

it states:

Hard drive indicators 1 & 2:
Flashing Red: Hard drive fault or array damage
How is the TerraMaster D2-310 detecting hard drive faults?

As the manual says, indicator will Indicator flashes red when there is hard drive fault or array damage.

D2-310 is not able to detect drive faults like bad sectors or bad blocks, you need to download third party disk utility to do that.
