D5 now hibernates mid copy, even with it set to disabled

Post by edgley »

I have never had so many problems in trying to copy just 8TB.

I now have five disks in it and have nuked the old RAID and set a new one up.

I am using Silverstack to copy my video files as it does checksum.
However, after about 90-120m the D5 seems to hibernate.

The shares are in the Finder.
When I click on one it never updates.
I cannot eject it.
I cannot reboot.

What I have to do is turn the D5 off, wait for macOS to display the Didn't Eject error message.
When I plug it back it, all works okay - for a while then it does it again.

Any ideas please?
I know that this unit is half the cost of the cheapest alternative, a Qnap, however, it is still a large amount of money to spend on something that is supposed to give me peace of mind over my data.

Thanks.

1. Type "Power and sleep" in the search bar of your Wndows
2. Click "Other power Settings" in the right side
3. Change the computer sleep time
4. Change the advanced power Settings - Hard drives "Close the hard drive after this time" - change the time to "0"

As I said I had already done that.
I am using another programme to copy the data and so far that has not shown the same problems.
