Dropbox Sync does not sync correctly

New files are sync correctly.
When a file is deleted is not reflected in the other storage.
When the task is setup as "Bidirectional".
If a file is deleted in the nas, the file is downladed from dropbox.
If a file is deleted in dropbox the file is uploaded from the nas.

This makes the content continuously grow as it makes impossible to rotate or delete the contents which is not how dropbox sync apps should work.

When used "upload local changes only" only the addition of files are reflected, deleting files is not reflected in the dropbox folder which is the same issue.

Ideally it should reflect the latest action when using bidirectional, and to keep a mirror of the local content when using "upload local changes only".

How can fix this?

Sorry for all the troubles. For this issue, it's the working rule for the sync app to ensure the data security here. The sync task should be paused to delete the files from both NAS and cloud, and restart the task again.

Hi again. Thank you for the quick answer.

However that is not good because of the following reasons:
* Dropbox already offers a "Restore Deleted/modified files" utility for free, even if the files are deleted those can be recovered.
* Then the different Sync modes make no sense "Upload locally only", "Download remotely only" or "Bidirectional" do exactly the same function.
* Most importantly, the app lose all the SYNC functionality Dropbox offers as it can't make an actually image of the content in the NAS, but incremental copies which is not sustainable in any case.
* This is not the behaviour of any sync app in any other system than Terramaster, not in desktop or NAS like Synology or Qnap.

I hope you understand this is not how i would expect Dropbox Sync should work, as no other dropbox sync app does this and it is not acceptable.

Do all the other backup apps also do incremental copies of the local content instead synchronize it?

Sorry, we have discussed internally with your engineers about the problem you have responded to. For some technical reasons,we will not modify the current synchronization strategy for the time being.

I agree with Arthur. Synchronization means that everything is done on dropbox/gdrive/one note should be reflected to the Nas and viceversa.

Your synchronization feature is currently a "restoration/regeneration".

So, I strongly need the "synchronization" feature. Therefore I strongly suggest for taking care of the needs of your customers to include the real synchronization features. You could keep your "restoration"… explaining in the help the differences.
Thanks for your understanding.
Regards

Hi frankjpunto,
I totally agree with you. and I know what exactly you want for Synchronization. But unfortunately we met some technical difficulty at present, and
we do not have solutions right now. So soon as we find out a new path we will be happy to improve this part. Sorry for that.
