Backing up shared folders

The brand-new USB Copy not only provides common backup features, in order to realize offline backup and defend against threats from external networks, TerraMaster engineers have also additionally developed the USB auto-hide feature.

Backing up shared folders

Post by Gareth »

USB copy cannot see my shared folders in the backup source. If I set permission allusers = read/write then I can see the folder in USB copy. I can then deny individual user permissions but this means all folders are visible (although not accessible) to all users on the network which is not ideal. I prefer to give individual users permission to their own folders.

What is best practise to be able to backup my shared folders using USB copy?

Hi Gareth,
As currently the USB copy is only available for admin group users, admin user can set any permissions he want during his using the usb copy app. But for the file service like smb, it still not possible to hide the folders from the users who don’t have the access permissions.
