TFM backup on TOS 5.0.176

Post by miji22 »

Just wanted to share a bug or features I encountered while setting up TFM on TOS 5.0 176. I haven't seen these mentioned anywhere.

First, mirroring a remotely mounted folder.
If that folder happens to not be available or yet mounted for some reason (like a local or remote reboot or outage) during any of the scheduled times, it will proceed to delete all local files in the Destination folder no matter how many TB are there. I think this happens since it appears to be using "rsync --delete" underneath the covers. So considering network outages happen occasionally, it's probably not a good idea to run this from remote-mounted Source folder or it will nuke TB of data which will then require to re-sync again.

Second, mirroring options.
Picking a folder will mirror that folder and its contents to the target folder. There seems to be no way to pick just the contents of the Source folder (ie. Linux trailing "/" in rsync source path) rather than the folder itself. Again, not a bug per se, but it would be nice to have an option somewhere to select.
