I'll be honest, I'm very close to sticking my F5-422 on eBay!
I just want to set it up as a Time Machine and file store for backing up video files.
As it sounds like a Jumbo Jet when running I have set the fan speed to 'low': viewtopic.php?f=28&t=2682&p=14850#p14850
However, now the thing finally goes to sleep, it never wakes for Time Machine backups!
Is there a way to configure this so it goes to sleep when idle, but when Time Machine starts it actually wakes itself up to take the backup?
How to setup with Time Machine so it wakes as needed?

When your Nas don't wake up, try a Wake-on-lan Programm that send a package and wakes it up before your Backups starts.
But you have to enable the wake-on-lan function in the Nas settings before.
