The concept of "free" memory on Linux is a little different to what you might be familiar with in the Windows world.
The ssh shell commands above will all show different views of memory usage. In essence, the system will use large chunks of memory for temporary buffering and caching (this is a good thing) rather than leaving it sitting around unused. The "available" memory figure is probably the best one to look for as this shows how much memory the system can free up if needed for applications etc. Hope that helps.Code: Select all
