I don't understand what exactly is the issue you want to report in the description.. The temperature of your hard drive is within a reasonable range.

First of all, the fan speed is automatically adjusted according to the hard disk temperature. However, during the hibernation period of the hard disk, in order not to wake up the hard disk, the system does not read the hard disk temperature, but keeps the fan at a low speed. Only after the hard disk exits the hibernation state, the system will read the hard disk temperature and reset the fan speed.

If the HDD is not in hibernation state, and the temperature is lower than 35 degrees, the fan will stop.

The function of the fan is to maintain the device and the hard disk in a reasonable temperature environment, and at the same time, reduce energy consumption as much as possible.

The fan speed is low when the hard drives are running and high when the hard drives are in standby.
When I log on to the web interface, the hard drives start (they were previously in standby) and the fan goes off (0 rpm). When I close the browser, the hard drives go into standby after a few minutes. Then the fan starts up again (1500 revolutions per minute). The hard drive temperature is about the same in both cases because there is no heavy hard drive activity.
This was not the case with 5.1.34 and the previous versions. The fan control was independent of the standby of the hard disks.

usbshare1 disappears when you insert a USB stick into your NAS and pull it out again

Thats exactly my problem, when system is cool and HDDs are in hibernate the fans are running all the time (around 1500rpm). Several minutes after the system wakes and HDDs spin up the auto fan control will behave properly.
After system has been idle overnight and HDDs in hibernate
After system has been idle overnight and HDDs in hibernate
A few mins after wake (device temp has risen a few degrees) but the fan has now stopped and behaves as expected

Auto fan control worked fine when HDDs were in hibernate in 5.1.34.

Maybe it has to do with my hard drives. I use IronWolf. In addition to S.M.A.R.T, they also have IronWolf Health Management to read the temperature. Which hard disks do you use?

I have 3 x 4TB Ironwolf ST4000VN008 and 1 x 4TB ST4000VN006. Auto fan control was working fine on my F4-421 on 5.1.34 so it's definately a bug introduced with 5.1.37 and seems related to HDD hibernation. This is a shame because I've waited so long for TOS 5 to fix the bug that hard disks in some models of TNAS failed to hibernate (mine). Alas this fix appeared in 5.1.34 and it worked so for a few weeks, I had a NAS that would go completely silent when not in use and wake up fine.

I'm using the 4TB Ironwolf ST4000VN008 too. Maybe it is related to this model...

Just tried to update my F5-221 from 5.1.33 to 5.1.37 and it's a total failure. My IP address was changed. I located it using TNAS PC and tried to login. It's now at the initialization screen. Looks like the update completely wiped my system. I have made no hardware changes to the machine. I am running 5 drives in a raid configuration. My OS is on that the same RAID setup, not a separate drive. I have been updating the same system since I bought it with 4.x OS. I don't usually update with every release. Maybe every other when it "looks" safe. What can I do?

Please help!
