Found interesing way to bypass the problem when the system tell you that the password is incorrect.
open a new user with all the admin privilege and if you wont be able to use the main user, it will let you
in with the second one.

SSH wont work but you will be able to use the NAS

This release still mis-identifies the SSD disk as /dev/sdz rather than /dev/nvme0, so I can't check the smart status from the GUI console. Please investigate. Thanks.
Setup:
TOS 5.1.37
T9-423(16GB)
1 x Intel 1Tb 670P Hyper-Cache
9 x 3TB HGST Ultrastar 7K4000
8 - members in TRaid array, 1 - Hot Spare
1 Storage pool with 2 Volumes
Backup
D5-300C
4x14TB ST14000NM0018 in TRaid array
1 Storage pool with 1 volume

<body class="overBody"><noscript><strong>We're sorry but TOS5 doesn't work properly without JavaScript enabled. Please enable it to continue.</strong></noscript><div id="app"></div><script src="js/chunk-vendors.2d7f5521.js"></script><script src="js/app.fadfe3e2.js"></script></body></html>

TNAS PC notifies the status: Ready. However, authorization via TNAS PC freezes. Windows Explorer opens the system disk, but it is empty.
We may find the reason why your page shows white without loading the OS. Before you update, you may delete a lot of snapshots, folders or subvolumes, that leads to the btrfs run the btrfs-cleaner in the background to clean the deleted subvolumes from your file system. This process can take a lot of CPU resources, so your system is too busy to respond.

Now you have two options:
1. keep the btrfs-cleaner process running, which could take several hours, depends on how much data need to be cleaned from your file system.
2. kill the process without waiting by ssh command line. BUT the data you deleted will keep in your file system, and will not really release your storage space.

I recommend you wait for the process to complete its job.

For the 5.1.29 I reported a problem with the Media Index.

norman0 wrote: 27 Mar 2023, 20:44 Media Index is very unstable. If you click on recreate, the creation often does not run right to the end. It usually stops too early and I don't see all the pictures and videos. Sometimes the folder structure is messed up. I have configured two directories for the media index. I do not use the default folder "public".
I have done a factory reset. But that did not change anything with the buggy Media Index.
some corrupted files or wrong file times may stop the indexing, we have verified this issue, will fix it in the coming releases.
Unfortunately it is still present in 5.1.33.

Thanks for the heads up! Updated without issue and now transcoding on Jellyfin works! CPU down to 33% instead of 98% when transcoding.

Please login with SSH, export the log of the media index and send it to us for study.
Log in to SSH terminal

Code: Select all

cp -r /var/log/media.log /Volume1/public/

Code: Select all

cp -r /var/log/mediadb/mediadb.log /Volume1/public/
