I restarted my device several times with the 5.1.19 update, but had the drive/volume error until the next update.
National lottery or TOS update......Hmmm!

Perhaps because the 5.1.29 update is only meant for 5.1.24 and above?

Ist there any solution for the problem of deactivation of the media index?
I have had this problem since version 5.1.28.
When I switch on the media index, it is automatically deactivated again at some point.

Hello,
Strange update is done, 2 HDD (for NAS) on my NAS F2_220 only one HDD can be seen the web interface.
But, It's reachable via the explorer. (finder of OSX)
Weird.........

Been happening to mine since the 5.1.22 update, it seems to be as soon as another device tries to access the media it turns off, been watching this happen with a TV.

Re: TOS 5.1.29 (X86) is Released for update
I tried to upgrade my F5-221.
I first had to upgrade to 5.1.24 as the instructions said (because, as usual there was no update notification in the OS), and my device wouldn't boot after that. Ended up with a few extra beeps during the boot process, and all lights red. I tried restarting, pulling the drives and restarting, powering off and restarting etc etc and even tried loading 5.1.29 when the firmware finally decided it wanted to give me something, and that something was the new device configuration screens (as in, this is a new device, configure it from scratch - no thanks). Nothing I did fixed the problem, and frankly I no longer want to troubleshoot these issues.
I'm sure that there is a fix, and I'm sure that someone here will know it... but honestly... I really don't want to go through these support hoops anymore. Just a personal choice, and my own personal thoughts, feelings, and opinions. My F5-221 has been (mostly) rock solid up until now and in the past I didn't mind going through the motions of support. I thought I was contributing to helping build up the product, and the brand. Unfortunately, this part of the product just doesn't seem to improve, and I don't have the time to keep tinkering with my only storage device every time there's an update.
Anyway, I'm sure I'm already at risk of some troll telling me to shut up and move on :D so, I'll say "so long and thanks for all the fish", but I'm now going to decide if I try to install an alternative OS or just go buy a different NAS.
Take care everyone, and best of luck to those of you who have more patience and dedication.
