I have done it and nothing has changed.
One of the two HDDs will connect every time I reboot, but not both at the same time.
This was normal until I went to TOS 5.1.24.

Which version is it upgraded from? Can you provide screen shots? How many hard disks are there in external storage? You can try another slot.

After applying the update NAS (F2-422) doesnt boot.
When trying to access via HTTP/HTTPS the only information that I get is that TOS is loading.
What can I do to get my NAS working as usual?
Thanks

Ok, I found the problem, after restarting the server again, I checked that amazon fire tv and Xiaomi stick 4k reproduced without problems, with a cpu consumption below 20% but in LG tv with web consumed 100%, checking the internet I saw something related to the subtitles and disable the function of embedding always in the lg plex app consumption decreased drastically, in the end it was only a configuration problem of my Tv but before that did not happen. I leave it here in case it helps anyone else.

Did more poking around and tried different scenarios and I've noticed that each smb takes up about 4-5% CPU, regardless of the size. Some are a few tens of GB, and some are a couple of TB. However, the biggest share I have is my media and it's 22TB. That's the one that causes the CPU to spike up past 80% whenever I mount in on my Windows PC.

Another thing I notice is that it doesn't peak to > 80% right away. Its a slow climb up so I'm inclined to think that the smbd is doing some sort of check or statistics on the share perhaps?

I'm not too familiar with what smbd is doing, but i can only tell from what i see from smbstatus.

OK my findings were inconsistent. Seems like it doesn't matter how large the share is, smbd still climbs to 80-90%

I switched to using NFS until this is fixed somehow.

Question about this update - i applied the update and it seems stable.

I noticed the boot volume is low on space.

[Root@F5.422]# df -h
Filesystem Size Used Avail Use% Mounted on
/dev/md9 1.9G 1.5G 297M 84% /
devtmpfs 3.8G 0 3.8G 0% /dev
tmpfs 3.9G 32K 3.9G 1% /dev/shm
tmpfs 3.9G 34M 3.8G 1% /tmp
tmpfs 3.9G 312K 3.9G 1% /run
tmpfs 3.9G 16M 3.8G 1% /opt/var

exporting and checking disk use report -> du -h / --exclude /Volume1 > /Volume1/public/spacelog.txt
noticed that the old upgrades to the psql are still here.
64M /etc/tos/pgsql
47M /etc/tos/pgsql/base
7.3M /etc/tos/pgsql/base/1
7.3M /etc/tos/pgsql/base/12704
7.5M /etc/tos/pgsql/base/12705
10M /etc/tos/pgsql/base/16384
7.3M /etc/tos/pgsql/base/17145
7.6M /etc/tos/pgsql/base/17270

should i remove these using rm -R -F for each of these folders ?

7.3M /etc/tos/pgsql/base/12704
7.5M /etc/tos/pgsql/base/12705
10M /etc/tos/pgsql/base/16384
7.3M /etc/tos/pgsql/base/17145

dates are old but i don't want to punt these and kill the boot usb/TOS psql db's.

any method i can use to check what the active psql DB is ?

Side note - the /usr (user space) folder seems to be bloated as well - 1.2G
1.2G /usr
13M /usr/@appweb
13M /usr/@appweb/usr
13M /usr/@appweb/usr/sbin
167M /usr/bin
100K /usr/bin/Codecs
172K /usr/include
168K /usr/include/atalk
636M /usr/lib

This update killed my TOS installation.

F5-221

I was on TOS 5.0.176, manually tried to update to 5.1.24, and got an error "Update failed". I redownload the update and try again. Installation gets to 95% and stops. I wait 30 minutes and nothing happens. The NAS and SMB share are 'offline', but the machine is still on. I wait another 30 minutes and still nothing. I decide to restart the NAS with the power button. Of course the SMB share doesnt come back, the NAS does in TNAS. I click the login button on TNAS and it brings up the Initialization screen..

I dont want to lose the data on the drives. What should I do from here to try and reinstall TOS without data loss?
