Still getting an error while attempting a TimeMachine (AFP or SMB) where the client comes back saying "Backup Disk Not Available" I have never had it working on v5.0 but it was working well when on v4 of TOS. Any direction or ideas on how to correct or get TM working again in Backup would be welcomed.

@quella ,

Have you followed the instructions, in which it’s stated that the primary (root) Admin account cannot access TimeMachine functionality, and an additional user account needs to be created for access?

I was also having issues, until I read through their instructions.

Is there an ETR on the usbshare permissions? It has rendered 1/2 of my data inaccessible by my media server.

I have an APC Backup-ES700 that is connected via USB to the NAS, every time i come home .166, .171, the NAS is shut down.

Until anow was set to turn off until low battery, wich is 1830 seconds... I switched it now to wait for 5 minutes... I'll report tomorrow.

It seems the NAS is DEAD. I tried removing memory, Init disk, HDDsm it's in a continuos loop, sometimes it works for 5 minutes, sometimes 10m, in the end it simply suts down.
Probably a hardware failure.

In most cases, a TNAS freezes due to faulty memory or hard drive. You can check one by one. by the way, what is your model number?
