I'm sorry but this is nonsense.
Yesterday I rebuilt the entire system from scratch. Completely clean drives, fresh boot loader, new volumes and storage pools. The device is completely empty and factory reset. I let it settle overnight and did nothing with it.
This morning I started copying about 3GB of files over to the device, I'm not using any of the media indexing or photo AI options as they do not interest me. About 70% of the way through the copying process, the copy process failed and the AFP connection disconnected. I could no longer access TOS via the desktop app or a browser, I had to reboot the NAS to gain access again.
So then I decided to try the copy...same thing, gets about 70% of the way through and then just collapses.
This is an F221 using a BTRFS file system. I have never had any problems with TOS 4.0+, it seems to be TOS 5.0 that is the issue. I use the device for nothing complicated. No cameras, photos or apps, just completely standard for the use of file storage and nothing more.
