Re: TOS 4.2.39(X86) is released for update!
I am now getting very hesitant about updating TOS as recent updates are starting to cause problems, prior to 4.2.30 updates seemed stable and caused no problems I had real problems with 4.2.32 and gave up on TOS 5 testing because the original software seemed quite stable but with subsequent updates the system became more and more flaky and made me give up on or and go back to the 4 series which is now making me nervous too!
So when can we start trusting software updates not t mess with our data? Sure, the "you should always back up your data" is valid, but when can we update without having to think should I make yet another backup and other precautions before simply just update and go becomes normal?

Just upgraded mine and all seems to be still working.
Connections from my Windows box still see data.
Connections from my Ubuntu box (cifs) still see data.
Plex still works.
Fan is on "Smart" and is currently doing its job

Just updated my F2-220. No problems no far - update went smooth. Got the NAS set up a JBOD for my media backups. Running Docker with a PiHole container. All good so far . . .

F2-422, no problems so far. And no selfactivating services.
Re: TOS 4.2.39(X86) is released for update!
I had to disable Bonjour and change the UPS Safe Mode power setting back to On Low Power (vs 7 seconds), but besides that no issues. Plex and Emby continue to work without issue. Still haven't been willing to turn my fan to Smart from Low, but I'll give it a shot another time when I'll be around during the day to monitor the fan speed and temp. I'll need a few days to monitor HDD sleep as well since it's way too early to tell.

Re: TOS 4.2.39(X86) is released for update!
Well as expected after trying to update one of my F5-221s with this it's now saying that the password is wrong and can't log in, will have to pull the drives and try a reset as I did with the other machine, this all occurs since the 32 update and now with the last 39 as well I wonder if whoever wrote the last TOS 5 update had a hand in this one as it's a very similar problem.

may I know how is your password looks like? like this: Abc1234@#? or like this: &Edd673%?
you can give me your password format, just replace your letter and number, but keep the special character, we need to verify it.
or you can send me via private message. Thank you!

This did not go smoothly.
Many lib files missing,
nginx did not start do to an update that needed to be performed on the nginx.conf file.... Fixed that and now have the console back.
Samba won't start because it is missing libraries:
Can't put the ldd command because too long.
Not happy... will try and install again.
