Thanks for this patch, and for making it timely.

Unfortunately, it seems all the ARM series are still vulnerable, so my unit remains powered off still until such patch is released for the ARM series.

Do you know if that will be this week?

I ended up installing this update sooner than I normally do due to the security concerns with not upgrading. First off, it is nice to see the update work through the TOS dashboard rather than having to manually update. Previous versions may have had this option working, but this was the first time I noticed so kudos for that.

As usual, the UPS setting reset to ‘shutdown after 7 seconds’ as opposed to ‘on low battery’ which I had it set to, but I was expecting that. Same with the Bonjour discovery service turning on.

Plex and Emby continue to function as normal. I skipped the versions which had issues, so I never ran into problems others had reported, but it’s always good to see both working as expected.

I’d been running my fan on low as I was running into fan issues with the smart fan setting. Previously, on low, my fan was constantly running in the ~900rpm range and the HDDs were going to sleep as expected. I just changed to smart fan and it seems to work correctly. The fan went from 10rpm to ~1000 once the CPU temp rose. I’ll have to report back later if the HDDs sleep once my NAS has been running longer.

All loaded..... Had to download and then update... i.e. The online update still does not work.

Had to again set my Workgroup name... Never seems to retain that info.

Other than that everything is fine for now.

Installed, didnt auto update (probably as I had locked it down so much). So went to TM website and downloaded from Support/Downloads (in case anyone else is looking for it).
Installed OK, although as I watched the update (Hey, I'm a boring guy), I noted the top of the status flag flash (Where it normally says and was saying "GOOD - TNAS is operating effectively" it was orange with "TNAS is Vulnerable".
Anyway, with the limited release notes I am hoping this will have mitigated against the worst vulnerabilities, but can I add my voice to the one asking for proper release notes, listing any vulnerabilities that have been closed, in this kind of format https://i.stack.imgur.com/JDzK2.jpg
So those of us who check Zero days etc can ascertain whether we are patched or need to take action.

I installed this update and went from 4.2.18 to 4.2.28. Now I can no longer access TOS. The main page gives a HTTP 200 OK after several minutes but the page that comes up is completely blank. TOS works for about 30 seconds after boot until something gets loaded and crashes. SMB file shares don't work either, because I don't think it gets that far in the boot process.

When I run dmesg, I see several crashes, which make it look like one of the kernel modules is killing the system. Virtualbox?

If I could figure out how to uninstall virtualbox from the command line, I'd try that.

Every time I update TOS to the latest version, the "Web Server" application no longer works and from SSH I have to execute the following instruction:

cp /mnt/md0/application/WebServer/libdb-5.3.so /mnt/md0/application/lib/libdb-5.3.so

Besides that, I have to edit the http.conf file every time to fix "DocumentRoot" because it is not updated by the application.
Is it possible to fix the problem in the next versions?

After verification we found that TOS 4.2.28 is not compatible with VirtualBox app. It is recommended that you reinstall the TOS 4.2.18 if you use VirtualBox.
