Hi,
Since 4.2.16 my TerraMaster F4.220 do not put HDDS to sleep after the configured "idle" time in General Settings \ Hardware and Power \ Hard Drive Sleep.
This device is now with 4.2.18, TOS_PATCH_X64_1.18.
Tried to change the idle time out from 30 minnutes, to 1 hour, 2 hours and none works - the HDDs are 24/7 running.
Any hint or possible fix?
Thanks

Re: F4-220 FW 4.2.18 no HDD sleep
i dont know if this helps at all, but my F2-210 seemed to take a few days for it to sleep since the upgrade
if you rest your hand ontop of the unit you could feel it vibrating, it then seemed to stop all by itself so i dont know if following a boot up / upgrade it just takes time for it to sort itself out and then enables the drives to sleep

Even when sleeping the drive lights will be green. Feeling the vibration is the only way to check it they're sleeping.

Hi everyone,
Thanks for your inputs.
Indeed, a week have passed since the update to 4.2.18 & patch but my disk are still running 24/7.
Right after the update, in the first 2 or 3 days I even restarted, changed the "sleep" configuration and restarted again but the HDDs remain running all day.
@Terramaster Team can you suggest anything or check this issue?
Thanks

I confirm that the hard drives do not go to sleep

Same for my two f2-221's running WD Reds. Head fly time virtually identical to power on time despite 30 minute hibernation applied. I resorted to power cycling and have the units off about 8 hour a night.V8Triker wrote: ↑25 Nov 2021, 01:12 I didn't think it had ever worked:

When I have spare time, I'm going to mount the drives to a PC running the WD firmware setting app to see if I can get the drives to put themselves to sleep.

Hi,
Mine's are Toshiba enterprise SATA drives that were "Sleeping" correctly on my F4-220 after 30 min idle, until version 4.2.16.
After that version, they are running 24/7.
Thanks
