I have also noted higher than normal RAM usage and i have also had logs warning that the CPU was maxing at 95% since the update.
I get this notification also.

@discosi
I think my ram is normal, only the graph is not correct. because everything running as normal.
Here are my numbers
total used free shared buffers
Mem: 595260 568200 27060 2556 4532
-/+ buffers: 563668 31592
Swap: 1998780 322772 1676008

Sorry for the mess of number, I can't get it shown on a good way.
Those memory stats look pretty normal to me too.

Out of interest, does anyone with CPU Load issues have a device plugged in via USB? I've tried copying some of my data off to an external USB HD (something I've done without issue on previous releases) and it kills the CPU to the point the web interface won't load! Logged in via SSH and from the top command the load average goes over 12 (should be well below 1) but no processes seem to be showing a high CPU load which is odd, seems more like something in the Kernel that drives the USB is going nuts. I was going to do a reset and reinstall back down to 4.1.24 but daren't if I can't get the data off first just in case I lose it! Looks like we're stuck on this bad release until the tech guys can send us out a patch or something :-(

I haven got anything plugged into the USB at present but will try just uploading a large file from my PC and see what happens, There is definitly something wrong with this update.
Can you actually downgrade the update if you reset?

@Tricky - I don't actually know to be honest as I didn't get that far, I'd assume so but don't plan on trying it unless I've got my data backed up.

@Tricky
Please be clear in your mind, the system will not steal your CPU power or RAM memory, to find out which service running out your resources, just check your "resouces monitor" on Control panel. You feel uneasy when you get the notice in the new updated system, you did not know it before, but it does not mean it never happen. Cancel the notice feature to let you feel better? I do not believe this what you like, because that does not change the fact.

Did you run Plex and Emby media server at the same time? that is not a good idea.

Your screenshots told stories.

Your not understanding me, my question is why has the system CPU activity increased to the point where steaming via one app only (any others disabled) causes the app to lock when it worked fine before?

The NAS is advertised as running Plex and being able to trans-code on the fly yet this worked fine with the previous TOS 4.1.24 update!

I am not concerned with the CPU activity just reporting that when the CPU activity is so high its causing problems with streaming apps and that includes DLNA server and Emby ....and no i dont enable them all at the same time they where installed for testing when Plex gave problems.

And i also asked just how a single process can run at 153% CPU this never happened before and to reiterate it is the function of the NAS that i have a problem with the CPU activity is just a a by product/symptom of the streaming problem.

Other owners are reporting these problems too so why are you not taking it seriously and getting the tech guys to seriously look into the problems.

I've done a bit of experimenting by doing a reboot of the NAS and doing a file copy from the command line to a USB attached device in /mnt/usb/usbshare1/ this seems to run ok although the system load average still seems pretty high at 3-4 just for a simple file copy! However, as soon as I open the web interface to the NAS the load average runs up to 12 or more (currently 13.15) and the web interface opens but crucially the CPU and memory usage panel never populates, see screenshot. It remains like this until I unplug the USB device. The hardware info page in the control panel doesn't show any data either. My guess is that whatever changes you've made to the way you calculate CPU and memory usage is causing these issues. I've almost finished copying my data off and will try a reinstall of TOS to 4.1.24 to check my theory.

I also experience high ram usage. Now is over 90%. Before the update around 40%. Same settup nothing changed. I'm using F2-210.

Yes I'm using an external harddrive on usb. No problems at all (using "usb copy" app). In the folder window it takes to much time and I like to have a back-up for some files.

Since updating to this version My nas is randomly rebooting every 30-60 minutes.. and I cannot re-install Plex either... I think it may be rebooting when it gets to 60ish percent.. Edit to add F2-210.
