TOS 4.2.12 - PLEX and DLNA media server issues after any NAS restart

Post by giudest »

PLEX and DLNA media server issues after NAS restart
F2-210 (ARM Cortex)
-TOS 4.2.12 - Plex 1.22.3
After any NAS restart, Plex loses all settings and database, Plex shows the "first run" page.
All settings and libraries must be reconfigured.
I checked that all folders in \user\plex\ are created again after any restart

-TOS 4.2.12 - DLNA Media Server
The server shows only the first 6 folders in the multimedia directory.
If i change the name of the 7th folder, it appears in the media client.
After NAS restart it disappears

The problems was after TOS update, from TOS 4.2.8 -->to TOS 4.2.12

Same here.. wish I had seen this before updating.... took me 3 hours to reset my plex back up to how it was. This server is just as a pure backup and to run plex on as a backup so not too bothered about everything now looking rubbish but it took so long to get it working again as for some reason it is behaving differently on the scanning now to as it was before :-(

resets after every restart

PLEX has not moved. it is still in user>plex also it is specified by the OP in the first post...

this is a major problem I have already wasted 3 hours resetting this back up and after a reboot it has now completely wiped the directory again...

Same here with DLNA itself (not using Plex at all): using 4.2.12 - 2104131759 on F5-422 the network streamer can only see the DLNA TNAS but only sees one folder beyond the "public" folder: the one for photos. There configuration before (that is: this morning) was fine with 4.1.07 - 2012241608. Although the configuration of the DLNA server seems to be the same as before, the network player is not longer able to see most of the directories. Restarting TNAS and network player in all possible sequences did not show any effect at all.
The DLNA's config is simple and plain: publish the "public" folder. After update this did not work any longer. Only one subfolder shows up: it is not even clear why it is this one: it is neither the first in alphabettical order nor the latest...
Access rights and permissions of the respective foldeers (including the "music" folder) are identical as with 4.1.07.
I even removed all security rule, all firewalls.

it's worse than that.. it resets if you stop or start plex even if you do not reboot.

\User\plex\Library|Application Support\Plex Media Server\ --> contains some other folders and files \User\plex\home\ --> is empty after any restart \tmp_transcoding\pms-c435a56..... is empty after any restart all folders and files seems to be created new after any restart
