Hello,
A friend of mine new to the nas usage asked me to look into this f4-210 nas.
He would use it specifically to stream 1080p movies with plex to his tv (1080p) over his lan (so not hdmi)
As far as i personally understand things this doesn't mean any transcoding. (am i right in assuming this)
When looking around i got a bit confused on if the f4-210 packs enough cpu power (arm) to do this, some that criticize it, but i believe they were indeed transcoding.. so is there anyone here that has any experience streaming 1080p with plex through lan (preferiable mention yes or no transcoding)
please also note if transcoding is used, if you use hardware transcoding (plexpass) or software transcoding.
anyway. i am looking forward to your answers..
Kind greatings

There is a setting in Plex that may be causing this. Go into the Plex server configuration. In the "Plex Web" grouping, select "Quality" and look at the setting for Internet Streaming Video Quality. For some reason mine was defaulting to 720p, causing transcoding.
