Separate Disks/Pools/Volumes/Shares in one NAS

Post by kelvinzero »

I have an F2-210 that's been running a Plex server from an IronWolf 4TB in bay one and that's working great. That's a shared folder named Public. I just installed an Exos 4TB in bay two that I want to use as a backup destination for the three computers in the house. I've been doing that with an older single bay WD NAS that it's time to replace.

Both drives are set up as Single Disk. I have the new second drive set up with its own Pool & Volume and a shared folder named Backup. But the computer doesn't see the shared folder and if I look in Files in TNAS PC, it's not there either. If I look TOS File Manager, the folder is there but it doesn't have the Share icon even though I set it up as a shared folder in TOS. The drive LED for the new second drive is constantly accessing but not on bay one so that's weird too.

What am I missing?

Restarted the NAS... now the computer can see the shared folder. Duh.
