Hey guys,
I'm trying to figure out how to best set up my T6-423 NAS in terms of speed, noise level and longevity of my larger drives (16TB IronWolfs). I'm thinking of adding an SSD for the "everyday" processes like the system itself, backups of local machines, torrents (seeding), Plex server, basically all applications running on the NAS and having all my media and data that I archive and stream on the array with my 16TB IronWolfs. This way that volume can sleep when I don't need it while the processes on the SSD run quietly in the background. I'd run mirrored backups of that single SSD once a day with another older drive or external USB for now.
What do you think, does this make sense? Happy about any feedback.
Thanks.
