Initial Setup - F5-221
I am upgrading my TNAS from a Synology 2-drive unit (2x8TB) to a F5-221. I have a 3rd 8TB drive for now, was wondering if it was possible to copy my old NAS to a single-drive setup on the F5-221, then add the two drives from the old unit and convert to RAID 5? Or will I need at least two drives in the F5-221 to begin?

Hi,
If I understand correctly, you want to transfer the data in Synology to TNAS, and then use the old hard disk and the new hard disk to create Raid 5 on TNAS. If so, you can open Rsync Server in the TOS control panel, add authorized shared folders, and then use Synology's Rsync backup. To change a single disk to Raid 5, you can refer to the following:
