F2-220 - folder has disappeared

Post by bitconductor »

Hi,
Had this drive for a while now and, not being techy, it's been a bit of a journey.
Using it mainly for music via Plex.
A folder has disappeared!
I had 3 folders - public, work and appdata.
Appdata is empty. Public has music in. Work was work stuff.
Work folder has disappeared.
Any ideas?

Separately, my permissions are f-ed up.
I don't know anything about Linux so I'm pretty helpless.
Thanks

Hi, something to check.

Go to control panel, Users, click on the more drop-down and pick advanced settings. Is the 'enable user home directory' option ticked? If not then tick it and apply.

This has happened to my F4-220. The shared folder used for Plex media has disappeared. I went to Users but see no MORE drop-down. I cannot find anything that refers to "Enable User Home Directory." I am running TOS ver 4.1.30-2008051459. I have 2 drives as RAID 1 and both are testing good with no Bad Blocks. Any idea on how to get this volume back?

This is a 4.2.x function, you can try SSH to log in to the background to see if the plex folder is in the Users directory.

No sign of it. I notice in the File Manager when I click My share it says it is owned by the root.

Hi,
Did you create the "Plex Media" folder yourself? Did it disappear after updating the Plex?

Yes, I created it myself. My Plex server resides on another computer and would access this folder over the network.
