F4-423 - Choppy videos on Kodi Nvidia Shield

Hello folks,

weird issue happening.

I've had a F5-422 for quite some times now, 5 x 4 To WD Red TRAID, working perfectly with Kodi on Nvidia Shield Pro / 4K projector.

I've just purchased the F4-423 loaded with 4 x 4 To WD Red and 2 x 128 Gb NVME for cache.

Copy troughput is excellent (250 to 300 MB/s from laptop with 2.5 Gbps adaptor), and copy between the 2 NAS reaches 200+ MB/s).

I yesterday connected it to kody, and .... epic fail !

I'm unable to play any video without choppy image and stuterring sound

When I play from USB or the F5 (same movies the content of the F5 is replicated on the F4) it works absolutely fine and has for months.

I have 2 Shield, the other is on the TV and it behaves exactly the same.

I'm at a loss here, anyone has an idea ?

Ho OK sorry 5.1 is beta version, I will try, hoping not to lose the 10 Tb volume like it happened once on the F5 ....

OK it is EVEN WORSE, the movie froze at the very first second.

What file service is the video playing through? You can try another protocol.
Also check to see if system resources are overloaded when playing videos.

The NAS is totally Idle, connected thru 2.5 Gbps adapter

Tried with NFS, same result

The F5 is connected on same 2.5 Gbps switch and performs fine even with 4K with huge highrate

Have no idea about the kodi Nvidia Shield, have no idea about what kind of video fails to play, the format, codec, bit-rate, and frame rate too, can't give any idea about your topic.
Make sure the video file is not corrupt, and the hard drive running in good condition.
