F4-220 Slow Transfer Speeds

Post by chrisfisher1987 »

Hi All,

I am hoping someone can help me, i have tried the chat but they have essentially told me to buy a new mac which...well yeh...so i thought i would reach out to you all for same advice.

Issue:

I am seeing a hard cap of 11mb download and upload between NAS and any other device.

Setup:

- Late 2012 Mac Mini - i7 model
- CAT7 ethernet cable
- Terra-master F4-220 with 3x wd red (2TB) in a RAID5 configuration.
- Sky router with 75mb/s download speed showing on client device.

What have i tested so far:

I have plugged each of the HDD into a dock to test the read and write speeds and they are all hitting around 150-250mb/s (Drives are Good)

I have reviewed the ethernet settings on both NAS and the Client and both are set at default 100mb connection not sure why as both are advertised gigabit but that doesn't matter still a max of 100mbs transfer speeds potential, more than enough for what i need.

I have made sure the TOS is the latest 4.2 version

Used Blackmagic speed test and mapped to the NAS which has shows the same limitations as the network is seeing

Tried a Mac to NAS link so no network connection/router in place still seeing slow Speeds.

If i transfer between windows pc and mac i am getting 35-40mbs which is not great but still better than NAS.

Are there any other things i can test before i send this thing back...

Chris
