BUG: Recycle Bin ALWAYS on despite turning it off in settings

Post by jdpugh »

Running F4-210 with TOS 4.1.24

1. Create a new Shared Folder with "Enable Recycle Bin" UNCHECKED (greyed out)
2. Transfer a file to the new Shared Drive
3. Delete that file
4. File disappears from new Shared Drive but IS NOW IN THE RECYCLE BIN

Doesn't matter what Volume I do this on. Also happens for attached External Drives.

Not only does this presumably make
Capture.PNG
file deletion take the same time as a Copy instead of just removing the file entry, it fills up my space.

As for the recycle bin, there are two recycle bin in our TNAS. One is on TOS web page. All the files deleted from TOS webpage would go into the Recycle bin on TOS Desktop.
The other is the recycle bin of shared folders, files deleted from SMB access with recycle bin enabled will go into in the folder "recycle". For example, folder A is created with recycle bin enabled, you will find a folder "recycle" under A when accessing your TNAS with SMB. and the files deleted with SMB access will go into this recycle folder.
