Permissions are broken

Post by sanctimon »

I have created a new user (non-admin) on my system and gave him read/write permission on a number of shares (large volumes of files) so I can access them via afp (afp does not work if you are a super-user in TOS 5).

Since I did this, it is impossible to open the permissions window of network shares within TOS. It is also impossible to connect via smb or afp.

What is your TOS system version?
I don't have a good understanding of the problem you're having, can you describe it in more detail and provide a screenshot?

@TMwuu

TOS version is 5.1.29-00343 on a F5-221.

I have created a user, let's call him "Zorro".

I have given the user access to a bunch of shares.

I get on my MacBook Pro and attempt to connect to TNAS.

Connection is successful but not all shares the users has access to are visible.

Checking the afp.conf file, I can see the user's access to the shares are correct.

My suspicion is that this has also something to do with shares on drives that are encrypted, as smb has problems with those drives too.

It seems that permissions were not configured when created. If you edit a shared folder without permissions, can you see it?
