How is TrueNas, I only need MariaDB, a Security App, Virtualization options, and Ttansmission? Is it a good option?

I have 32 GB of ram available for use so I don't think it will be an issue (TrueNas is known to be way more resurce hungry especially with ZFS).
Does it allow the above aptions, I guess moving the date will be the biggest hurdle.

I'm currently using TrueNAS Core, and only for supporting SMB and NFS datasets. It's primarily for local backups and file sharing; I haven't attempted anything related to virtualization on it.

My understanding is that TrueNAS Scale is the preferred solution when virtualization is a desired feature, but I don't have any experience with that at all.

Sorry for my last message, the damn autocorrect made a mess of it ;)

Anyway, I had no idea TrueNAS Scale is now stable, I already bought 1x 512 SSD and I'm moving my data slowly on 2x 2 TB HDDs I had laying around.

Can't wait to give it a go.

I think paying for a SSD more than makes up for it IF I can use my 32GB of RAM + all the community support behind TrueNAS.
What I'm not excited for is restoring all my work environment.
Geesh, all of this just so I can use my own hardware as I want.

Totally agree with you. I'm also thinking of switching to another operating system.

The temporary solution is to reinstall 5.0.158 with the "Custom" mode, before you do this, you need to clean your browser cache. Instruction of reinstallation Download the TOS 5.0.158 installation package After the installation, you can update the system from 5.0.158 to 5.0.163
1. Third-party memory does not work on firmware 5.0 176. But on AliExpress, in one of the reviews on F2-423, the buyer writes that he was able to bypass this protection. 2. So, if I upgrade to 5.0.158 firmware, will the third-party memory module work for me?

I have the same issue. TOS 5.0.158 does NOT resolve this issue. 5.0.176 also does not fix the issue. When will this be resolved??

I have no idea how the AliExpress reviewer bypassed the 3rd-party memory check. I decided that the savings on memory was worth forgoing TOS5 and using TrueNAS instead.

I now have 32GB of memory installed for a fraction of the price TerraMaster wants for their "preferred" memory.
