F4-423. Installing TOS on M.2 NVMe SSD (instead of cache)

Post by UpDaTe »

Hello!

Is it possible to install TOS on M.2 NVMe SSD drives?
I don't want to use them for cache, but would like to make a volume (RAID 1) out of them and install TOS there
And HDDs should only be used for data

It is possible. As TOS does not limit them only for cache.

Ок, this is good
What size M.2 NVMe SSD do you need to put TOS on them?
Are there any instructions for installing TOS on an M.2 NVMe SSD?

4GB is good enough for TOS.
You do not need a special instruction to do that, you just set your M.2 disk as a single disk, then the TOS will be installed on it.

If I install two M.2 NVMe SSDs, I can build Radi1 out of them, right?

Do you have instructions on how to install an M.2 NVMe SSD into NAS F4-423?

Yes, you can build a raid1, M.2 NVMe SSD mounted to a NAS F4-423 in the same way as a regular disk.

OK thanks

If TOS is installed on the M.2 NVMe SSD, will all the programs that I install later also be installed on the M.2 NVMe SSD?
