Volume sizing Qs

Post by DharmaChappell »

When setting up my new F2-421 with 2 x 4TB Toshiba N300 NAS drives, I noted it didn't seem possible to create a volume less than the maximum available in the Storage Pool (3.64TB). I would like to configure 2 volumes, each with < 2TB of capacity and SMB configured to work around any issues with Windows 10 Pro and volumes > 2TB. Did I miss something or is the Volume creator limited to max available space?

Please advise whether you have created the volume. If you have created the volume and configured with the max capacity, then the capacity could not be reduced. The capacity of the created volume could not be reduced but only to be expanded.
If you want to create two volumes, please backup the wanted data first, and delete the current volume and then you can create new volumes.
