Hi,
I had my F2-221 working perfectly before the holidays. I've unplugged it for two weeks.
Now, when I turn it back on, I got multiple errors:
On the first attempt, it sent me to setting up the NAS as it was the first time I had used it (prompting me to format it). It was also beeping repeatedly (every 10 secs or so). I rebooted it. When asked to create a new volume I cancelled the setup and rebooted the NAS.
On the second attempt, it tells me over and over again that the password is wrong and then that the verification code is wrong. I'm certain neither the password or the verification code aren't incorrect all the time(I've typed the password dozens of times before the holidays, never having memorised it on the computer). I've also copied the password to a notepad and copied it, without success. Rebooted the NAS.
On the third attempt, I've tried opening the setup on Microsoft Edge (before I was on Chrome, which worked fine in 2020) and it just gets stuck on "Loading".
I've pulled out both HDDs and put them back in. I've unplugged everything, waited 10 seconds and re plugged everything.
On the fourth attempt I just get stuck on the "TOS Loading" screen (now on Google Chrome). I allowed it 15 minutes. Eventually it beeped once and it prompted me again to set up the TNAS as a first-time user (like the first attempt).
I have no idea where to go from here. I feel like the software is extra-flimsy and subject to multiple fails at any given point and I'm frankly concerned about using this tool as a backup for all my important information.
Any help that you can provide is greatly appreciated.
best regards,
André

Re: F2-221: multiple errors initializing
What is the array type and hard disk model in your TNAS? It may be that the hard disk is not plugged in properly. Please unplug and plug it in as required before trying to install the system to see if the data still exists.

Re: F2-221: multiple errors initializing
Thank you for the assistance.
I have a F2-221 model with 2 8TB HDD Toshiba NAS N300
TOS version is 4.1.30-2008051459
I've unplugged both HDD and plugged back in.
5th attempt:
TNAS PC detects TNAS device. Clicking "login" takes me to the TOS Desktop login page (http://192.168.1.139:8181/) but I get the error:
ERR_CONNECTION_REFUSED
Any ideas?

Re: F2-221: multiple errors initializing
6th attempt:
Turned the machine on without the hard drives in - managed to access the "Login" page but it said to connect hard drives.
Connected the hard drives.
Changed to a page that says:
"Restart TNAS
After restarting, system will automatically switch to the TOS login page. If it does not, please login from the TNAS PC desktop application." with a countdown of 3 minutes. Since the page did not refresh automatically, I clicked "login" from at the TNAS PC app.
Again I got the same result as the 5th attempt:
ERR_CONNECTION_REFUSED
Any ideas?

Re: F2-221: multiple errors initializing
Hello,
Are you TNAS PC able to find the device and then unable to enter the login interface?
Can you provide a screenshot of the current web page?
Please describe the current status and we will determine whether remote processing is required.
Please try to use the command: ping your address IP
Then provide a screenshot.

Re: F2-221: multiple errors initializing
Hi,
Thanks for the quick reply.
TNAS PC has been always able to find the device, as seen in the image below:
The current page I see when I hit "Login" on TNAS PC application is the following:
Translation is as follows:
It is not possible to access this site
192.168.1.139 has refused to establish connection.
Try:
Checking connection
Checking proxy and firewall
ERR_CONNECTION_REFUSED
I don't know how to use the command you provided. Here is what I got:
Thanks again!

Re: F2-221: multiple errors initializing
Hello,
if your IP is 192.168.1.139
Then enter the command: ping 192.168.1.139
What version of your TOS system? Was the system updated before the holiday?
